The UVA annual Holiday Gallery is a juried show and holiday gathering that has become a tradition within the Greenville art scene. This holiday exhibit is a prime venue for artists to share their work as potential holiday gifts. This exhibit provides a venue for holiday shoppers to find that one-of-a-kind, unique handmade gift. The Holiday Gallery will be open and available to the public for their enjoyment and shopping, all work will be “cash & carry” through the duration of the exhibit. This exhibit is located at UVA Galleries 4 Smith Street, Pendleton Street Arts District, Greenville, S.C. We welcome you to visit our new location, the UVA is a non-profit visual art venue dedicated to showcasing our unlimited local talent, enrichment to those living in the community and in serving to educate all that the visual arts can be.

The holiday gallery and juried exhibition kicks off with a reception and awards ceremony on December 4, 2009, then the works will stay on display through the festive season. The Holiday Gallery will be open and available to the public for their enjoyment and shopping, all work will be “cash & carry” through the duration of the exhibit.

The Sapphire Award went to Angelique Brickner, the Ruby Award went to Kim Sholly and the Topaz Award went to Claire Shelby, CONGRATULATIONS! The people's choice Emerald Award will be selected at the close of the exhibit, please come visit, see the exhibit and make your selection through January 23rd.
Entry Fee: A non-refundable fee of ten dollars ($10.00) per entry, for non-members ($15.00) per entry, with a maximum of two entrees. The fee is to be submitted upon delivery of work to UVA. This is a great time to become a member of the UVA or to renew your membership. You may enclose a separate check for membership dues with your registration. Please make checks payable to Upstate Visual Arts.
Eligibility and delivery: Work must be hand delivered Monday, November 23 & Tuesday, November 24, from 10:00-4:00 at Upstate Visual Arts, 4 Smith Street in Greenville S.C. If someone else is delivering the work, they must indicate that delivery is on behalf of the artist and fulfill applications accordingly.
All work entered into the exhibit shall be:
Original work produced by the artist, who is a current member of UVA, and completed within the last three years. The work must be original and never before shown at a UVA exhibit. No reproductions or commercial works will be accepted. Work that is under instructional lessons would also not be accepted. 3-D size limit is 12”x12”x12” and must be free standing or mounted as such. The 2-dimensional size shall be no greater than 12”x12”.
Works should be ready to hang: Artist may submit up to two pieces, framed and wired for hanging. If work is stained glass or other heavy medium, weight limit is 12 lbs and size is limited to 12”x12.” Labels must be attached to the back of the work.
Free standing works will be displayed on pedestals at UVA and may not exceed 25lbs. Jewelry makers will need to provide their own lock down cases to be displayed on the pedestals. ALL WORKS must be for sale. 30% of the sales price will go back to Upstate Visual Arts to support their funding and continue excellence in programming.
Art Pick up: All art work shall be picked up at UVA on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 between the hours of 10:00 and 6:00. Please call (864) 269-8282 for questions.
